Coarse-graining: Theory and applications

After giving a brief general presentation of nonequilibrium statistical thermodynamics, I will discuss recent progress and open questions along the following lines:

1. Reconstruction lemma and generalized fluctuation-dissipation theorem
2. Eyink's action principle adapted for coarse-graining
3. One-dimensional reductions of the Liouville equation
