An Introduction to Quantum Dissipation

In this talk I will give an overview on the modeling of open quantum systems. I will start with the linear quantum master equation and motivate the Lindblad form for weak system-bath couplings. I will then explain how the corresponding Markov process in Hilbert space can be simulated. Finally non-markovian processes and some related numerical aspects will be discussed.
