Validity and failure of the Boltzmann weight

First-principle dynamical and thermostatistical numerical studies of models with long-range interactions neatly exhibit when the celebrated Boltzmann weight is valid and when it fails. We verify this in d-dimensional Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou, XY and Heisenberg models. Consistent results are also verified in various other systems such as complex networks, simple conservative maps, quantum-entangled systems, highenergy particle collisions. The whole picture that emerges illustrates the need of nonadditive entropies in order to appropriately generalize Boltzmann-Gibbs statistical mechanics.
